The Healers is a painting about the development of mans attempts to correct his physical and mental condition when it goes awry. The various forms and shapes in the painting follow the evolution of medicine, from his earliest attempts as homo sapiens to use herbs, to the present day doctor, shown at the top of the canvas. The doctor, a general internist stands with his bag in his hand, a symbol in the 1960's of medicine.
