David, Shirley Cohen's Grandson, is shown in contemplation, surrounded with butterfly themes and wings, which symbolize his development from the amorphous stage of youth into an adult. On the tables before him are a collection of items; books, ships, architecture and various geometric forms, which represent the various types of education he will receive.
