This painting represents the development of a female pattern of thinking which is not the straight and narrow associated with man but the more effusive, curved and organic. Dominating the painting is the figure of a male, symbolizing strength. It is thought that the male developed when the molecules and the amebics separated to produce a stronger more muscular core than the female, so when she emerges, she is less visible than the male figure. The female thus emerges from the male in this painting.
